Hotel Minella recognise that our business has an important role to play in protecting the environment for future generations, and to help secure the long term sustainability of the tourism industry. It is priority to encourage our customers and suppliers and all business associates to do the same.
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact through better efficiencies in the use of energy and the minimisation of waste, packaging and water usage.
Recycling
All plastic bottle used for hair & body products are recyclable and are refilled by our housekeeping department.
Biodegradable takeaway cups and paper straws are used, which can be composted, while the lid can be recycled.
Wooden sandwich sticks have replaced our plastic sandwich sticks.
Drinking water is available from the water station at reception (water is sourced from our well on the property)
Reducing Printed Paper
We are committed to reducing our printed paper waste within the Hotel. It is our policy for all guest bedrooms that menus and room service order and all guest information is now available on a QR code located on the inside of your room key holder. Please scan this QR code for all information. Any guests that do not have access to QR code option, please come to reception where we will provide a printed version as requested.
Solar Panels
Solar panels were installed in the hotel in summer of 2019. These panels help to reduce the electricity consumption of the hotel and in turn will help reduce our carbon footprint.
We are now generating 14% of our electricity through solar power.
Electric Car Chargers
Electric car charging station has been recently installed in our onsite car park. Installation of the electric car charger is part of our aim to reduce the hotels carbon footprint. These must be pre-booked in advance at reception and payment is made at reception.
